Alan N. Watt, PE, LEED AP BD+C, BCxP, FSAME is the principal at A. N. Watt Consulting Engineers, LLC, a veteran owned small business in Jacksonville, Florida. As such, he builds teams and provides consulting services for clients in the southeast and nationwide.
Mr. Watt is a registered professional engineer in both mechanical and fire protection engineering in 8 states, a LEED Accredited Professional specializing in Building Design and Construction and a Building Commissioning Professional. He is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology, Construction Management and has a Masters in Engineering Management from the University of Florida. He served in a variety of project and company management roles with Watt Plumbing, Heating and Supply Company, Tulsa, Oklahoma before moving to Dallas, Texas to join the Justice Design Group of Henningson, Durham and Richardson, Inc. There he was involved in the design of over 30,000 jail and prison cells across the country, including Charlie Manson’s. He joined RS&H in 1994 as the Director of Mechanical Engineering. He transferred to the A&D practice in 1999 and founded the Defense Service Group in January 2004. He was promoted to Vice President in 2009 and served as Vice President for Business development from 2012 until his retirement in September of 2015 He was inducted into the Society of American Military Engineers' Academy of Fellows in May of 2009, serving as the South Atlantic Regional Vice President for the Society from 2015 through 2017.
Mr. Watt was a Captain, Civil Engineer Corps, United States Navy, and a veteran of 25 years of reserve duty. He was a Seabee Combat Warfare Qualified and a member of the Acquisition Community. In his reserve duty, he had a wide variety of challenging leadership assignments. He was mobilized in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom and during 2003 set foot in 10 foreign countries, 7 US cities and spent 150 hours in transit while serving with US MARCENT, NAVCENT and CENTCOM.
Mr. Watt was elected to the Town of Orange Park, FL Town Council in 2017.
ANWCE consults with clients for project and program management of federal, state, and local agency facility projects. A true multi-discipline consultant, ANWCE provides a complete understanding of the process, from planning and programming through construction and final punch list. With a background in both construction and engineering design, ANWCE has been involved with design and/or construction of most facility types and brings this experience to each new project.
ANWCE’s fire protection engineer is licensed by examination and a professional member of SFPE.
